The CAD system GRAFIS is a modern software for pattern construction, that can be used on typical Windows PCs. The pattern creation and grading is done generally according to the construction principle based on body measurement. The special feature of GRAFIS is the protocoll that stores all construction steps during the style developement. These steps are automatically reused for the grading process for other sizes. The use of grade rules is not neccessary.

One GRAFIS package contains:

• the software for pattern construction with several measurement systems and a lot of interactive basic blocks and tools,
• the marker making software (layplanning) for manual layout of pattern pieces,
• data interfaces for import and export of pattern pieces in DXF, AAMA or ASTM formate,
• print and plot option for the use of windows printers,
• control of plotters, e.g. with HPGL formate,
• control of digitizers with Wintab drivers.

As optional modules there are available

• a software for automatic marker making ‚Autonester-T’ and
• control of cutters (single and multilayer) with ISO  formate.

GRAFIS allows the pattern making for standard sizes as well as for measurments of concrete customers (made-to-measure). It is used widely under industrial conditions all over the world. Freelancers and garment studios are using GRAFIS for pattern creation, collection developement, grading and taylormade pieces.
