Bocca Comorio srl was established in 1934 by Paolo Bocca and Epifanio Comorio. The vertical and horizontal bobbin winding machines for looms constructed by the company were immediately favoured by customers who rapidly multiplied throughout Italy.
The leap towards the breakthrough of the overseas market was achieved in 1944 after the entry into the company of Federico Allora.
This new commitment compelled the owners to increase their organisational operation and research. Therefore, in 1950, after in-depth studies on trimming machinery, the construction of the first looper loom, model T1, began followed by the complete range of accessory equipment. This event represents a key phase in the company’s history that shortly after left their original premises, which had by then become insufficient, to move into a more adequate plant.
Experience, success and the new organisational structure gave renewed impetus to Bocca Comorio & C. that after a short time introduced a new machine onto the market, able to satisfy an ever increasing need: the T2 with which it is possible to produce trimming cords through a single operation.
By this time the company was in full swing and not even the death of Mr Allora and the retirement from the company of Mr Bocca, after having reached a fine age (between the years 1970 and 1971) could hold back success.
Furthermore, the entrance to the company of Michele Pennazio, who immediately demonstrated his capabilities and managed to give fresh impulse to the company, increased the penetration on the overseas market. With modern ideas and foresight, Mr Pennazio understood the importance of travel and market research giving origin to the design of new machines, acquisition of new technical documentation and a rational advertising campaign.
The results of this initiative were swift. Production was enriched with new machinery for the preparation of trimming yarns amongst which was the T11 for the manufacturing of knitting tubular yarns; patented in the main countries.
After a few years Mr Comorio left the company, his place being taken by Mr Graziano Iseppi and Mr Luigi Gariglio who gave further drive to the company, studying and developing new machinery amongst which is the T54 for the production of covered yarn and the winding/doubling machine T35.
Again the premises became insufficient to satisfy the demand of machines and it was therefore decided to move to the present day production and administrative premises.
Unfortunately, in 1994, following the premature death of Mr Michele Pennazio, the company was again forced to change its structure. At this point Mr Pennazio’s two sons, Davide and Roberto entered to take part in the company and immediately endeavoured to acquire the necessary experience to maintain the continuity in the work and development of new machinery needing to be increasingly perfected and avant-garde. In the years that followed, the latest novelties in the production of trimming cords were born with a particular development in the electronics and computerisation of the machines.
With the progressive entrance into the company of Iseppi’s and Gariglio’s children (Stefania and Enzo), the marketing and development sectors were further boosted to increase the passage into new markets and optimise the quality of the product.
